1. Who We Are

Boston Sober ("we," "us," or "our") operates bostonsober.com and related mobile applications. We provide a free online directory of substance use disorder treatment resources, sober living homes, detox centers, and recovery support services in Boston and surrounding areas.

We are a directory service, not a medical provider. Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information when you use our services:

3. How We Use Your Information

4. Lead Form & Treatment Provider Sharing

When you submit an inquiry from a facility profile, Sober Network stores the information and emails it to our team for review. The form is not automatically sent to the listed facility, does not confirm availability, and does not guarantee a response. We may contact you about the request and, when needed to handle it, share the inquiry with the provider you asked about.

Please do not use a directory inquiry form for medical records, diagnosis details, emergency information, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive health information. In an emergency, call 911; for crisis support, call or text 988. Inquiry records are retained for follow-up, security, and operational or legal needs. You may request access or deletion using the privacy contact below.

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and measurement tools, including Google Analytics, Matomo, and the Meta Pixel, to understand site usage, measure outreach, and improve the directory. These services may process device, browser, page-view, referral, and approximate-location data. You can limit cookies in your browser settings. Because browsers do not use one universal Do Not Track standard, our response may vary by browser and service.

5A. Paid Listings & Stripe

Paid listing subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We may store Stripe customer, subscription, checkout, and customer-portal identifiers so we can activate, support, cancel, or reconcile a listing. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use caution when sharing personal information online.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]

9. Third-Party Links

Our directory contains links to treatment facility websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

10. HIPAA Notice

Boston Sober is a directory service, not a healthcare provider. Do not submit medical records or detailed health information through general directory forms. Providers you contact may have their own HIPAA and privacy obligations; review their policies before sharing sensitive information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
